50 Year’s experience

Metaltech Precision was founded in 1973 as a partnership, developing into a family business which moved out of central Chard to larger, local premises in 2000. The business continued to develop as new markets, new manufacturing techniques and growing capability brought greater experience and an increasingly varied customer base.

Metaltech Precision now serves global customers in many demanding sectors, including Aerospace and Defence, Oil and Gas, Rail and Marine.

Joining Expromet Technologies Group

Metaltech Precision was a key acquisition for Expromet, a group of complementary advanced precision casting and machining businesses delivering world-class engineering solutions to customers on a global basis.

Our customers can now draw upon Expromet’s in-house technical expertise, extensive UK manufacturing capabilities and global supply chain as we help them find innovative solutions to complex or demanding engineering challenges.

Comprehensive CNC machining and automated loading

With the further acquisition of NC Precision in 2022, coupled with continuous investment in new plant and machinery, Metaltech Precision now offers a full range of services, including CNC Turning, CNC Milling and 5 Axis Machining; all coupled with automated loading systems; backed up with Grinding, Fabricating, Shotblasting, Painting, Assembly and Testing.

As a result, Metaltech Precision has capacity to manufacture anything from a 5-tonne fabrication to high-precision sliding head machined 3mm parts.

Investment in people and the environment

Our business is founded on delivering excellent service and added value to customers: for this we need to invest not just in machinery, but also in our people. Metaltech Precision has a record of providing a safe and enjoyable working environment, including recent developments to improve natural lighting within the facility for a brighter working environment.

We have also worked hard to limit our impact on the wider environment. We have invested heavily in the installation of biomass heating, making a significant reduction in our dependence on traditional fossil fuels.
