Quality Manager

Position Overview

The Quality Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining all Quality systems and procedures within the manufacturing facility. This role ensures compliance with relevant standards, legislation, and company policies while promoting a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence

Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Quality Manager will oversee the Quality team and will work closely with the Group Technical and Facilities teams to ensure MetalTech Precision continues to thrive as a key business within the Expromet Group.

 

Key Responsibilities

Quality Management

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) in line with AS9100 or equivalent standards.
  • Lead quality audits (internal and external) and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented effectively.
  • Monitor product and process quality performance, conduct root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to ensure consistent quality output and compliance with customer specifications.

 

Health & Safety

  • Ensure compliance to Health & Safety, and Environmental standards as directed by the Company
  • Ensure that priority is given to H. & S. at all times whilst implementing improvement activities within the company.
  • Ensure that all personal protective equipment (PPE) is correctly worn and maintained where required
  • Ensure that all accidents, dangerous occurrences and near misses are reported to either Health & Safety Manager or a member of Metaltech’ s health & safety committee

 

Leadership & Communication

  • Lead, coach, and develop QHSE team members to achieve departmental goals.
  • Promote QHSE awareness across all departments through communication, training, and engagement activities.
  • Prepare and present regular QHSE performance reports and metrics to senior management.
  • Liaise with external auditors, regulatory bodies, and customers on QHSE matters

 

Key Relationships

  • Reports to: General Manager, MetalTech Precision. Dotted line to Group Technical Director
  • Direct reports: Quality Assurance & Quality Control
  • Internal stakeholders: Operations, Engineering, Finance, Quality, and Group Technical
  • External stakeholders: Certification bodies, suppliers & customers

 

Continuous Improvement

  • Strive to improve efficiency, effectiveness and cost reduction of the organised and co-ordinated use of manpower, materials, machines and methods

 

  • Promoting the continuous improvement in all activities of the Company through motivation, inclusion, excellent communication and support of team members both on a cross-functional and individual basis

 

  • Assist with the planning and achievement of 6S improvement initiatives

 

General

 

  • In line with the ethos of continuous improvement and personal development the job holder may be asked to carry out tasks or duties outside of the specific content.   Such tasks or duties will be consistent with job holder’s skills, knowledge and experience together with provision of appropriate training and support if required

 

People – Direct Reports

  • Identify employee training and development requirements and optimising available skills within the company.

 

  • Mentoring and coaching of all staff to ensure their continued development and motivation.

 

  • Implementing employee performance and development reviews setting realistic and measurable targets. Assisting staff to ensure these targets achieved.

 

  • Monitoring employee’s late attendance, absence and general work attitude.

 

  • Assist in recruitment and induction of suitable staff to meet the company job requirements
