Investing in our people: leadership and management training

Developing our teams for improved customer solutions

At Metaltech Precision, we understand that we need more than extensive plant and machinery to deliver high quality customer solutions. Our employees are the backbone of our business, so investing in them and developing their skills is crucial.

Embracing personal development

Metaltech understands the importance of personnel development, both for the benefit of our business and for the industry as a whole.

From the outset, we developed a clear intake and development programme for our apprentices. In recent months we have focussed on cultural change, boosting communication and sharing goals, which is improving the engagement and commitment of our team at every level.

Tailored leadership training

We encourage excellence throughout our business, along with the development of personal skills that will support individuals throughout their lives. We want our managers and team leaders to be able to act with more autonomy, so sought out a bespoke leadership training course for this purpose.

Twelve members of staff, including the Senior Management Team and Team Leaders, have now undertaken a three-day training programme at our premises in Chard. The course was run by Tony Mattravers of SWMAS, who trained the team in leadership through management tools and techniques.

Continuing leadership development

Our team engaged enthusiastically with the course, coming away with a clear understanding of fundamental principles such as change management, time management and conflict resolution. We will be developing this further with them over the next year, encouraging them through agreed personal objectives and actions.

Selected team members will also continue their leadership development in more depth. This will involve an introduction to more complex tools and practices that will strengthen their confidence and ability to deal with situations as they arise.

Investment in employees delivers customer benefits

Metaltech Precision is proud that all members of our team successfully completed the leadership training and are already putting their new knowledge into practice.

“We are committed to creating a culture of empowerment, where our staff feel valued and supported in their professional development,” says Andy Riste, Managing Director. “This, in turn, allows us to deliver the high-quality products and services our customers have come to expect from Metaltech Precision.”
